Autumn beckons
September certainly starts with a bang this year. For the first time I will be exhibiting in London at the Mall Galleries as part of the Light and Land show. I’ve put together eight images on the theme ‘From City to Coast’, highlighting the similarities in line and texture which can be found in both environments. I’m really excited about this one; it’s not often you get to share a room with photographers like Charlie Waite, Bill Ward and others. There will be over 50 landscape photographers showing their work so there will be something for everyone. If you’re in London please do drop in - I’ll be there late on Saturday afternoon if you want to say hi.
Over that same weekend, September 7th - 8th, I’ll have work on show at the Combe Down Art Trail in Bath. I’m at venue 9, the Jewish Burial Ground, which is a very atmospheric place. Behind high walls the graves and their headstones are held safely and watched over from the adjoining house. I took photos when the summer grasses and flowers were still in place and used some continuous burst multiple exposure techniques to produce images like the one below. The exhibition will be in the small house at the entrance to the burial ground and I’m joining Robert Lee in the space. I will be there on Saturday 7th in the morning.
Finally, as ever, I’ll be at Bath Contemporary Artists Fair on September 8th - it’s definitely a busy week! This is always a great fair with around 50 artists and a wide range of work to choose from. Time to think about some Christmas shopping!
